Olson returns to coach Cats
Lute Olson was back at practice yesterday and has resumed his full-time duties as Arizona men's head basketball coach.
Acting head coach Jim Rosborough confirmed last night that Olson has ended his leave of absence and will be on the sidelines for UA's upcoming games against Southern California and UCLA at McKale Center.
Rosborough declined further comment, but said that Olson would issue a statement today giving specifics.
"Everyone's excited that we will now have our entire team back, top to bottom," said assistant coach Josh Pastner. "We were extremely happy to see Coach at practice (yesterday) and (I) am looking forward to getting back into the regular routine."
Olson took a leave of absence on Dec. 30 to be with his wife, Bobbi, who was battling the final stages of ovarian cancer. Bobbi Olson died on Jan. 1.

Carrying on a legacy
King's contributions remembered in yesterday's events honoring the civil rights leader
Saundra Taylor was 29 years old when Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated.
Taylor, UA vice president for campus life, remembered being in a laundromat as the staggering news struck her on April 4, 1968. She was attending Ohio University, where she lived in a small black community.
She reflected on feeling scared and alone that day.

'The season is definitely for Kelsey'
Osburn is an inspiration to his teammates
teammates The UA baseball team will begin the 2001 season in Hilo, Hawaii on Thursday without one key player, Kelsey Osburn.
Osburn, 20, who played mostly second base for the Wildcats for the past two seasons, died July 17, 2000 after being struck by a baseball during batting practice while playing for the Newark Raptors of the Northeast Collegiate Baseball League.

In 1979, Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlevi flees Iran. Although he sought to modernize Iran, Pahlevi clung to traditions that seemed to suit an ancient Persian monarch. In 1967, Pahlevi crowns himself "King of Kings" and "Sun of the Aryans" The Shah's close relations with the United States provide a rallying cry for the Ayatollah Khomeini.
In 1919, the Eighteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, prohibiting the "manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors for beverage purposes" achieves the necessary two-thirds majority of state ratification and thus becomes the law of the land.
