Clinton will be missed

Headline Photo

By Cory Spiller

Bill Clinton has recently created seven new national monuments in Arizona. He has been a warrior for the environment, a guardian of a woman's right to choose and a hero to those who believe even the greatest men have flaws. In eight years he has created a more prosperous, just and healthy nation, and now he is preserving it for generations to come.

People will unfortunately remember the scandals, and the near scandals. However they will not be able to ignore the platform he built for us. In 1996 he ran under the slogan, "A bridge to the 21st century," and that is exactly what we got. Our country witnessed a distinct revolution into the Information Age, and it could not have been handled better. The economy is undeniably the best it has been since the fifties. Unemployment is the lowest it has been in 30 years, and every indicator in Wall Street has consistently broken records.

Bush has a tough act to follow, and he deserves our support. However, he lacks the compassion for certain issues that Clinton has reassured us with over the last eight years. President Clinton will be truly missed.
