The International Arts Society Film Series presents an evening of entertainment with its showing of "Wings of Desire" directed by Wim Wenders. Film buffs will notice the similarities between today's 7:30 p.m. showing of "Wings of Desire" and its American remake "City of Angels." The movie focuses on the romantic relationships developing around intense philosophical and political forces. Modern geography plays a role on the Modern Languages auditorium screen as the state of modern Germany is traced throughout the film. Plant biology takes center stage as Pilobolus, a 30-year-old dance group named after a solar fungus, spreads its wings tonight at Centennial Hall. The theater group is known around Tucson for combining humor and invention with dance and creative play. The show begins at 8 p.m. and tickets range from $22 to $34. The UA Museum of Art combines history and comfort in tonight's 5 p.m. public lecture entitled, "Kenneth Noland: The Navajo Tapestries." At the museum, guest speakers Lee Parry and Ann Helund will discuss Kenneth Noland's minimalist paintings and drawings used as templates for Navajo tapestries. UA gets a taste of the northeast with tonight's installation of the Chamber Music Series sponsored by the Boston Camerata. Joel Cohen, founder and director of the Camerata's "American Vocalist" presentation will explore early American secular and religious music on stage at Crowder Hall.
