Caught on Tape

Diane Farr has created a handy little guide for single women called "The Girl Code: The Secret Language of Single Women." The book acts as a dictionary that lists all the typical terms and often-heard phrases used by single gals when talking about boyfriends, relationships, etc. And since the book contains no illustrations, we at the Arts desk thought we would make some video recommendations to bring Farr's book to life.

Farr: Club Med Morals - "When you take a vacation in a place that creates a little fantasy world, and your inhibitions never make it past the baggage claim" (page 59).

Movie: "How Stella Got Her Groove Back"

Farr: Cheerleading - "When your date is driving like Speed Racer and you're so panicked that your life might end that your limbs are flailing around madly" (page 81).

Movie: "Gone in Sixty Seconds" or "Days of Thunder"

Farr: A Baby-Sitting Job - "This is a date with a man who is between three and 15 years younger than you" (page 34).

Movie: "Harold and Maude"

Farr: The Walk of Shame - "As every college graduate knows, this is the stroll home after your indecent act, which everyone who sees you knows you just committed" (page 131).

Movie: "The Wedding Singer"

Happy renting!
