The UA men's and women's track and field teams are sending five athletes to Fayetteville, Ark., Friday to compete in the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Seniors Brianna Glenn, Tara Chaplin, Mike Kenyon, sophomore Amy Linnen and freshman Sean Shields were the only UA athletes to qualify.
Glenn will compete in the 60m and 200m sprints as well as the long jump.
Kenyon will participate in both the 200m and 400m, but head coach Dave Murray said the senior will concentrate primarily on the 400 in hopes of a top-three finish.
Linnen enters the meet ranked No. 1 in the pole vault. The sophomore broke the NCAA record with a vault of 14 feet 10 inches last month.
Chaplin - the 2001 cross country national champion - enters the championships ranked No. 9 in the 5,000m.
Shields, the lone UA thrower competing, will participate in the shot put.
The championships begin Friday and run through Saturday.
