From now through April 7, your heel-toe express would be a great ride to take to and from school. The Clean Air Fiesta 2002 urges you to Give Your Car a Siesta. According to the group, nearly 70 percent of Tucson's pollution comes from vehicle exhaust. The Pima County Department of Environmental Quality, the City of Tucson and UA joined forces to bring this event to bear. More than 29 Fiesta activities are planned in coordination with the event. Entry into the program through the Department of Environmental Quality submitted before April 19 will be entered in a random drawing for prizes, including a trip for two to San Diego. For more information, call 740-3947 or visit the Web site at http://dot.ci.tucson.az.us.

It's not Halloween, and no one wants to imitate "Eyes Wide Shut," but costumes and fun are on tap this evening when the University of Arizona Theatre Arts Department and Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, 7000 N. Resort Drive, team up to present "Theatrical Threads," a costume fashion show and benefit. Attendees get the opportunity to follow a play's costume design and makeup from the beginning, muslin drafts to the finished product. A silent auction featuring theatrical memorabilia will also take place. The show starts at 6:30 p.m. and tickets cost $150, $60 of which is tax deductible. For more information, contact Helen Bernard at 626-2686 or visit the Web site at http://www.arts.arizona.edu/theatre.

We all know the desert Southwest features plenty of clear skies and dazzling sunsets. Well, after that ball of fire dips below the horizon, the stars come out. Join the Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association and the Flandrau Science Center for a couple of hours of relaxing stargazing on the UA Mall. Jupiter and Saturn grace the night sky with their best viewings the rest of the year. The group meets near the Flandrau Science Center at 6:30 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m. For more information, contact Michael Terenzoni at 621-3646, e-mail him at miket@ns.arizona.edu or visit one of the Web sites at http://flandrau.org/astronomy/news.htm or http://flandrau.org/astronomy/skywatcher.htm.

Some movies fall under the "classics" category "The Classics." But some movies are simply considered classics. Stop by the Park Student Union, Turquoise Room at 7 p.m. with $2.50 to check out "The Goonies" on the big screen. Chunk and company will ease the stress of the first week back from spring break, and the University Activities Board will provide popcorn and pizza. For more information, contact Diana Ziegler at 621-0768.
