McCain is daring, not a turncoat
In response to Shane Daleās commentary, Iām not sure I got the point. So McCain is voting to preserve wildlife over the greed of oil companies, give patients rights when it comes to their medical care and is attempting to limit the corporate backing of candidates running for the Senate?
Whatās so wrong about that? When a politician is proclaimed to be a turncoat for daring to introduce legislation that is person-centered rather than corporation-friendly, maybe itās time for that political party to reexamine its ideals. Donāt worry, McCain ... you may have lost Daleās vote but youāve got mine.
And to Mr. Peterson, who complemented the madness on the facing page: As usual, I would suggest you pay more attention in your history (major?) classes.
Your ideas on where America would be without government programs like the F.A.A., the Interstate Highway System, guaranteed student loans and the FDIC would be interesting to hear.
To think that the rugged individual lives in some sort of independent world is naive.
