Police keeping information tight to protect investigation

TPD confirmed that the second of two break-ins that occurred Wednesday resulted in the sexual assault of a 20-year-old UA student.

Police said a man physically and sexually assaulted a University of Arizona student residing in the 800 block of East Adams Street.

Police also said the same man physically assaulted another UA student Wednesday morning after breaking into her home demanding money.

Tucson Police Department Sgt. Judy Altieri said detectives have discussed making a composite sketch of the suspect, but have not yet released a picture.

Detectives described the suspect as a 20- to 30-year-old male with a thin to medium build, blond-red hair and wearing dark clothing.

Although the University of Arizona Police Department assisted at the scene of the crime, Sgt. Michael Smith said the department cannot comment on the case because it is still being handled by TPD.

Police said anyone with any information involved with the case should call 911.
