Take a break from the scorching heat and sneak a seat at tonight's Flandrau Science Center and Planetarium presentation of "Mars Quest." This new show about the fiery planet reveals more than a decade of research devoted to understanding Mars. Recent NASA missions will be covered in the film as well as new developments concerning the possibility of life on Mars. For more information on this or future showings at the center, call 621-STAR.

Welcome back your Arizona Wildcat football team this afternoon at an off-campus reception. You will be joined by the Wildcat Seniors, head UA football coach John Mackovic and the assistant coaches for the 2001 season. Bring your appetite and a few questions for the team to the Double Tree Hotel Grand Ballroom today at noon. Ticket prices for the luncheon range from $28 to $290 and can be purchased through the ArizCats office or by contacting Jill Hall at 621-2331.

Open your mind and your eyes to a whole new world of science at today's optical sciences colloquium titled, "Optical Vortices." The lecture will be given by optical sciences professor Grover Swartzlander in the Meinel building, Room 410.
