"The Birth of Venus" is re-enacted in Darden Bradshaw's woven interpretation of Botticelli's Italian Renaissance masterpiece. "The Chrysalis" artistically addresses the same issues of beauty and acceptance through tapestry as the original painting did with color. Catch a glimpse of the Master's of Fine Art Thesis Exhibition at the Lionel Rombach Gallery today between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Admission to the exhibit is free. For more information, call Erin Hesser at 626-4215.

Share your knowledge of molecular structure or computer programming with children who want to know. Sound like your cup of tea? Get more information on NSF Fellowships for teaching science, math, computers or engineering at today's CATTS information meeting at 2 p.m. in the Gould Simpson building, Room 517. Pick up tips on programs available around the state for graduate and undergraduate students. For more information, call Nancy Regens at 626-6727.

Pull out your day planner and make sense of all that scribble at today's Fall Leadership Workshop, "Strategic Planning." These workshops are free and can be completed for a UA leadership certificate. Workshops are held in the Park Student Union, Turquoise Room, and last approximately an hour. For more information, call Matt Helm at 626-4905.

You have sharp pencils, clean erasers, college-ruled paper, three-ring notebooks, black pens, blue pens, highlighters and Wite-out. So what's missing from the report you are writing? The words! If you feel that all the office supplies in the world aren't going to help you spit it out, check out today's Individual Writing Assistance Workshop at 5 p.m. Ask questions about current works in progress, upcoming term papers or personal tasks of poetry. Workshops are held in Modern Languages 310 and are free of charge. For more information, call Donna Rabuck at 621-5849.

One day almost two months ago, the world changed when three planes flew into three prominent United States buildings. Sept. 11 will forever be marked in our history books, and now its time to find out why. The Center for Middle Eastern Studies presents "Sept. 11: A Historical Background" today at 7 p.m. The lecture will provide perspectives on "The Exclusion of History," and "Bin Laden as U.S. Ally During the Cold War," among other hot topics. The lecture takes place at Nations Hall, 516 N. Fifth Ave., and is free. For more information, call Anne Bennett at 621-8079.
