Dr. Drew Pinsky and Adam Carolla from "Loveline" sign autographs after their show at Centennial in October 1999. The sexpert duo returns to the UA Saturday at 8 p.m.

More than 1,600 tickets remain for the radio duo that sold out Centennial Hall last year

Students looking to buy tickets for "Loveline" can take their time getting to the box office.

No one else is in line.

Fewer than 900 tickets have been sold in the nine days since tickets became available for the Saturday's show at Centennial Hall, where radio sexperts Dr. Drew Pinsky and Adam Carolla will answer students' questions about topics such as sex and drugs.

The duo sold out Centennial's 2,500 seats in two weeks last year, said Lindsey Peecook, who sells tickets in Centennial Hall.

Whether the show will sell out again this year is uncertain, said Ana-Maria Acuna, manager of the ticket office at Centennial.

"Last year it sold a lot better than this year," Acuna said.

The Associated Students of the University of Arizona are losing money on the show by paying part of the cost of each student's ticket. So if tickets do not sell, ASUA will lose more money, said Elizabeth Young, director of the ASUA Speakers Board.

The program cost ASUA more than $25,000 to bring to campus.

"Loveline" - which was once an MTV television program - is a nationally broadcast radio show airing Sunday through Thursday nights.

On the radio show, Pinsky, a board-certified internist and addiction specialist, and Carolla, his comedic partner, answer callers' questions about sex, drugs and diseases.

But the show at the UA will not be broadcast online or over the air, Young said.

The format of the show will be an open forum, where microphones will circulate in the audience and students can ask uncensored questions.

Immediately after the show, Pinsky and Carolla will sign autographs in the Centennial Hall lobby.

Tickets are $10 for UA students with a CatCard and $12 for the general public. All seating for the show, which takes place at 8 p.m. Saturday, is first come, first serve.

Those who wish to buy tickets for "Loveline" can contact UApresents at http://uapresents.arizona.edu or 621-3341.
