Civil rights charges against UA could be dropped

Death of UAPD officer may be enough to dismiss case

A UA student, who reportedly had his shoulder dislocated by UAPD officers in January 1999 during an arrest, filed charges against the university, but as of Monday, the charges might be dismissed.

Officials are seeking to dismiss a suit against the university for a violation of the student's civil rights after the suicide of one of the arresting officers might have obscured the balance of the case.

Wow, this is an amazing feeling! Knowing that my time at the Wildcat is coming to an end is bittersweet, but for a sixth-year senior like myself, I need to move on. Somehow I am graduating, and therefore must take my collective talents or lack thereof to some new destination.

It just seems that those who disagree are very vocal - I keep reminding myself that this is what freedom of speech is all about.
