If regular softball is beneath your skill level, you are in luck. The intramural office of the Student Recreation Center, Room 218, offers a single elimination softball tournament played with a 16-inch, large softball. Registration starts today and continues through Jan. 31. The intramural office is open from noon to 6 p.m. during the week and the fee is $14 for each team. For more information, contact Monte Reed at 621-8723, e-mail the intramural office at imsports@email.arizona.edu or visit http://campusrec.arizona.edu on the World Wide Web.

Before you dive into a heavy dose of hardcore softball, call the Life and Work Connections Office, 1515 E. Helen St., today to make an appointment for open wellness screening. The tests include blood pressure, body composition, a cardiac endurance step test and nutrition, fitness and resiliency consultation. Appointments are required. For more information and scheduling, call 621-2493 or visit the Life and Work Connections Office Web site at http://lifework.arizona.edu.

Evel Knievel may have been your childhood hero. Maybe it was Cannonball Richard or Evel's son, Robbie. No matter which daredevil you cheered for as a child, renowned choreographer Elizabeth Streb will explain how she captured their worlds on film and in dance in a UApresents discussion titled "Unlocking the Creative Process" at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering auditorium. Streb will speak with UApresents executive director Ken Foster about her upcoming documentary performance of "Action Heroes," which includes dance, film and music, and plays Saturday at Centennial Hall. For more information about the discussion or the performance, contact the Centennial Hall Box Office at 621-3341.

If you lead, we'll follow; if not, get the heck out of the way! The UA Center of Student Involvement and Leadership kicks off the Spring 2002 semester with its first leadership workshop, "Making Organizational Change." Students can become a certified University of Arizona Student Leader by attending 20 of these sessions throughout the year. The program is designed to teach students new skills, help them gain a competitive edge in the job market and assist student organizations with the learned skills. Today's workshop will be at 3 p.m. in the Park Student Union, Turquoise Room. For more information, contact Matt Helm at 626-4905 or e-mail him at helm@u.arizona.edu.
