Student Funding Board to decide if DeGeneres will speak at Colorado State U.

U-Wire

Famed actress and comedian Ellen DeGeneres might be coming to Moby Arena at Colorado State University in April, depending on the decision of the Student Funding Board.

The SFB heard a request Thursday night from the Student Organization for Gays, Lesbians and Bisexuals in its attempt to bring DeGeneres to Colorado State University. The event would be scheduled during T'BGLAD 2002 - transgender, bisexual, gay and lesbian awareness days - which run April 7 to 14.

One major concern that the SFB says it has about the proposal is the possibility of SOGLB earning a profit from ticket sales to the DeGeneres event. The board will decide if the SOGLB should reimburse the Associated Students of CSU, and if so, how much.

SOGLB's initial plans include having the event be free for CSU students, while having non-students to pay $15 to see DeGeneres, who is scheduled to speak for an hour and a half to two hours.
