Wedding bells on horizon for Olson and Pennsylvania businesswoman
Don't worry: Lute Olson's new fiancˇ is not going to take him away from Tucson anytime soon.
Olson silenced rumors yesterday that this will be his last year of coaching after news spread that he is getting married April 12 to Christine Toretti.
"I couldn't be happier, and I feel very fortunate," Olson said. "Christine is looking forward to being a part of Arizona basketball and shares my excitement of that and the prospects of the next year and beyond."

Oregon State comes to McKale for season's final home series
Ex-UA assistant Jay John returns to hometown for first time as head coach
When Jay John enters McKale Center tonight, he is unsure how the Wildcat fans will receive him.
On one hand, John was born in Tucson, went to Salpointe Catholic High School, graduated from UA and spent four seasons as an assistant coach for Arizona.
On the other hand, John is now the first-year head coach of Oregon State, UA's opponent tonight.

Icecats finish 6th in ACHA tournament
Penn State skates to fourth straight national title, UA loses two of three
After riding a 14-game win streak into the national tournament, the Arizona Icecats had their sights on finishing the season on top.
However, the red-hot Icecats cooled down in a hurry and ended up finishing sixth at the ACHA National Tournament last weekend.
The 30-game, four-month schedule concluded with two losses, leading the Wildcats to a sixth-place finish overall. Despite starting the season 3-3, the team came into the tournament with high expectations after winning 20 of its last 21 games during a period of nearly three and a half months.

Tennis takes on two of Pac-10's top programs
The UA women's tennis team will look to extend its two-game win streak away from home, but the road to four in a row goes through two top-five teams.
Coming off a sweep of Texas schools, Baylor and TCU, Arizona (4-3, 0-3) will face Pacific 10 Conference rivals No. 4 California and No. 3 Stanford on Friday and Saturday respectively.
"The key now is building more consistency," head coach Vicky Maes said. "The girls know it will take 100 percent to take control of the team. I know we have the talent, I know we have the strength."

One: Stanford, looking for its 22nd consecutive Pac-10 championship, is the clear favorite to win again this weekend. Two: The members of Arizona's swim team couldn't care less.

Laxcat men roll past NCAA squad
All of St. John Fisher's school money and scholarships couldn't buy it a win, or even a close game against the Arizona men's lacrosse team, as it was blown out 12-4.
Although last night the No. 5 Laxcats (5-1, 4-0), played at Salpointe Catholic High School, their third different field in as many games, the result was the same. Arizona dominated NCAA Division III St. John Fisher 12-4.
The Laxcats trailed 2-1 after the first quarter, but a goal by long stick man Tim McComb tied the score. It was the first of 10 unanswered scores.

Women lax wins with new coach
After ascending to a No. 12 ranking all on their own, the women's lacrosse team held off UCSD 7-5, taking its first game after the hiring of head coach Jenner Lochridge last week.
After a week of practice with Lochridge guiding the team, the Arizona squad (4-4) was able to defeat their conference rival on Sunday.
Lochridge, the brother of men's lacrosse player Jeems Lochridge, played NCAA Division I lacrosse while attending Virginia.
