Likins details plans for UA's Îelite' future

President Peter Likins outlined his plans yesterday for restricting admissions, raising tuition and cutting programs in order to move the UA toward the private sector.

The plans have been met with some excitement and some opposition from members of the university community who are wary of the possibility that UA students will find a drastically different institution when they begin school next fall. [Read article]

Concern for Dele mounting

Bison Dele used to be a fixture on the UA campus, but the former Wildcat basketball player, who has been missing at sea for over two months, hasn't been back to Tucson in a couple of years.

Dele returned to UA in 2000 to play in a fund-raising basketball game spearheaded by ex-Wildcat Steve Kerr, and it was the last time he was on campus. [Read article]
