UA discriminates against those who are Îdifferent'

The UA is not a diverse campus.

Many individuals would disagree with the above. One reason is that we have people from more than 100 different countries and all 50 states here, which means we have a person of every race, color, ethnicity, religion, etc., here. Big deal.

All I see is a painted image of the university's idea of diversity on campus. Diversity is not about trying to fill a quota of individuals who are different in some way. Diversity is about promoting and encouraging others to look at differences of others with respect, with a non-biased view, and with an open mind. Also, diversity is about promoting and encouraging others to accept those who are different. [Read article]

Unbiased profs deserve special recognition

For one reason or another, there seems to be a disproportionate number of left-leaning professors at America's universities.

The UA is no exception. If I've attended a college course that was taught by a right-wing instructor, it's news to me.

But the issue isn't that some classes are taught with a liberal bias; much more simply, it's that they're taught with any bias. Period.

Some professors make at least some semblance of an effort to lecture without exposing their political views in the process, but either don't try hard enough or are simply incapable of doing so. The effort should be appreciated nonetheless. [Read article]

The Hall of Catastrophic Romantic Failure

Sorry for being so pessimistic, but it's true. We are doomed from the start. Enter the Hall of Catastrophic Romantic Failure and perhaps you won't repeat these painful mistakes. [Read article]

Things on our campus have changed over the past couple of years. We've built a new bookstore, a new union (almost) and a giant underground classroom/learning center. We are slowly replacing the things of old on our campus with newer buildings and technology. Gone is the old red brick, replaced by smooth, white plaster. Gone is the old McDonald's in the student union, replaced with, well, a new McDonald's. [Read article]
