No coach? No problem
Players run practice while the No. 15 women's club lacrosse team continues to
succeed despite having to compete for more than a year without a coach
As hard is it to imagine the men's basketball team winning without Lute Olson or the softball team without Mike Candrea, the women's lacrosse team is succeeding without a coach.
Despite not having a sideline roamer, the Wildcats have jumped out to a 3-1 record, losing 10-5 on Saturday to No. 3 UCLA öö a team which beat No. 1 Cal Poly 8-4.

Fickle fans beware the wrath of Lute
UA head coach Lute Olson criticized Wildcat fans yesterday, saying they are spoiled.
Sadly, this is true. If Arizona wins by 20, fans sit and talk about how boring the game was. If UA has a scare say against, oh, Washington or Washington State, then suddenly the Wildcats suck.
You have to consider one thing: the due factor is against Arizona. It's hard to sweep any team during a season because the Wildcats have to play one game away.

Polk earns conference kudos again
For the third time this season, freshman center Shawntinice Polk was named the Pacific 10 Conference Player of the Week.
This was the first time since the 1997-98 season that a Wildcat player has won the award three times in one year. The last person to do this was Adia Barnes.
The Pac-10 Conference made this decision yesterday after the Wildcats swept the weekend series from both Washington schools. During the two games, Polk averaged 21 points, eight rebounds, three blocks, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals. Polk also set a new double-double record over the weekend with her 16th of the season when she had 28 points and 12 rebounds against the Cougars Saturday.
