Homecoming arrives a semester early for a pair of Wildcats this week as the UA men's basketball team inches closer to the end of Pac-10 play.

Portland, Ore. natives Salim Stoudamire and Chris Rodgers return to the Beaver State this week as No. 14 Arizona takes to the road for the last time this regular season at Oregon and Oregon State.

"It's always good to go back home and see the people from high school and the community," Rodgers, a sophomore guard, said. [Read article]

Women's hoops looks forward to home cooking

The UA women's basketball team will try to make a disappointing Los Angeles road trip a distant memory starting tonight against Oregon State in McKale Center.

The Wildcats (18-7, 10-4 Pacific 10 Conference) were knocked from first to third place in the Pac-10 following consecutive road losses to UCLA and Southern California last week.

UA head coach Joan Bonvicini said there's no point in dwelling on what might have been in Los Angeles. [Read article]

Icecats focus on rich tradition, not first-missed postseason

In 1979, creating a hockey team at a university in the middle of the desert seemed like a crazy idea. Twenty-five years later, the thought of not having the UA Icecats would seem just as crazy.

In their 25 years of existence, the Icecats have won 80 percent of their games and gone to eight final fours. They are the only club hockey team ever to beat a ranked NCAA Division I team. Their success has been matched only by their support, as the UA has become perhaps the most popular club team in the entire country, while never missing the national tournament. [Read article]

UA broadcasts to leave KNST-790 for Fox-1290

Hands on your radio dials, UA sports fans: Your Wildcats are on the move.

Host Communications announced yesterday a five-year agreement with the UA department of intercollegiate athletics, giving the Lexington, Ky.-based company radio broadcast production rights to all Arizona men's and women's basketball games, all football games and select UA softball and baseball contests.
