Two students juggling flaming cotton balls set another student's car on fire Monday night at Sky View Apartments, 1050 E. Eighth St. reports stated.

The owner of the car told police he looked outside his window around 9:15 p.m. and saw his car on fire. The owner watched as two students threw a pitcher of water on the car to put the fire out, reports stated.

Police found two burnt cotton balls by the student's car. The car had damage to the front grill and the hood, reports stated.

The students told police they had lit the cotton balls on fire after soaking them in nail polish remover.

The students said they were throwing the cotton balls back and forth when they realized the cotton balls were too hot. They threw the cotton balls outside their window and they landed on the other student's car, reports stated.

One of the students told police he used to juggle burning cotton balls at home, but he had always done it outside.

The owner of the car said he did not want to press charges if the other two students were willing to pay for the damage.

The two students said they would pay for any damage and personally apologized to the owner of the car, reports stated.

Police transported a man who had been sitting under a "No Loitering" sign in front of 7-Eleven, 1750 E. Speedway Blvd., to Kino Hospital around noon on Tuesday, reports stated.

When police arrived, the man told them he had not been into 7-Eleven and had no intention of going inside.

The man told police he was just sitting and eating his burrito "from the Bell," reports stated.

Police ran the man's name and found several reports saying the man seemed to be suicidal and had a mental disability.

Police then discovered a court order through the Tucson Police Department for the man to have a medical examination at Kino Hospital, 2800 E. Ajo Way.

Police transported the man to the hospital and turned him over to staff members, reports stated.

Two cartridges of gun ammunition were found by Michael Canales, offensive coordinator for the Arizona football team, early Tuesday morning in a parking lot at the Viscount Suite Hotel, 4855 E. Broadway Blvd., reports stated.

Canales told police he had seen two Border Patrol cars in the area around the same time he had found the ammunition.

Police contacted Border Patrol and were told it was not Border Patrol's ammunition, reports stated.

Police were unable to find out to whom the ammunition belonged.

A student from Tucson High School was arrested for having marijuana Monday afternoon, after police saw him and another Tucson High student in a wash at the corner of East Seventh Street and North Tyndall Avenue, reports stated.

When police began to walk toward two students, both began to walk away.

Police asked the two students why they were in a wash during school hours. The students told police they were skipping class, reports stated.

When police asked if they had anything on them, both the students said no.

Police then found a baggie of marijuana in a shirt one of the students had thrown on the ground while talking to police, reports stated.

When police asked what was in the baggie, one of the students said, "What do you think?" The student then admitted the marijuana was his, reports stated.

He was taken to the Pima County Juvenile Court.

The other student was taken back to the school, reports stated.

The marijuana was placed into evidence.

A student was arrested for possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia Monday night at the Kaibab-Huachuca Residence Hall, 940 E. Fourth St., reports stated.

Police arrived after the hall director told police there was marijuana in the student's room.

When police asked the student if they could come in, he said no and asked why they were there, reports stated.

Police told the student they suspected he had marijuana.

The student then said, "OK, you got me."

The student gave police a baggie of a green leafy substance, zigzags and a cigarette roller.

The student was cited and released, and the marijuana was placed into evidence, reports stated.

Police had been called two previous times to that same room on reports of the student having marijuana. Both of those times no one had answered the door, reports stated.
