Men in sixth entering today's final round
The Arizona men's golf team shot a 13-over-par 293 yesterday and stands in sixth place at The Preview by Ping and Golfweek in Hot Springs, Va.
The Wildcats are six strokes off the pace set by first-round leader Clemson, which carded an opening-round 293. Augusta State (290) and North Carolina (291) round out the top three places.
Individually, freshman Josh Esler and junior Nick Juszczak anchored the Wildcat lineup, as both tallied a two-over 72 and are tied for 11th place.
Senior Chris Nallen currently stands in a tie for 28th place after shooting a four-over 74. Also competing for the UA is freshman Henry Liaw, who is tied for 36th place at 75 (+4), and junior Nathan Lashley, who is tied for 52nd place at 77 (+7).
The tournament was shortened to 36 holes when rain forced the cancellation of the second round yesterday. The tournament will conclude this afternoon.
