Can you hear me now?

Remember the car phone? It was clunky, had its own holder somewhere between the passenger and driver's seats and had an exceptionally long coiled cord. Still, it was so cool.

Soon, the cord was tossed and the analogue and cumbersome portable cell began to pop up everywhere. Think Zack Morris in Saved By the Bell. But now, as digital cell phones become sleeker and more fashionable with each passing day, Zack's huge and ugly phone has become a joke. Besides looking great, cell phones now offer Internet access, text messaging (great entertainment during boring lectures), radio, digital camera features, games, detailed organizers and more.

Although just about everyone has one, it doesn't mean you can't give your phone a personal touch. Buy a new phone face to give your "celly" a unique look, or download a fun ring (you can even download the Saved By the Bell theme song!). Just remember: No matter how cute your phone looks or how many functions it performs, getting good reception is key, especially for the person on the other end. No one wants to spend their minutes asking a friend, "Can you hear me now?"

He's dropped this phone a lot since he got it a while ago, but he said he still thinks "it's not bad."

She said she isn't in the market for a new phone, even though she's had this one for a while. "It's old and it works," she said. In the end though, that's what really matters!
