Hankwitz interview scheduled for today
Interim Arizona head football coach Mike Hankwitz is scheduled to interview today for the team's permanent head coaching job, according to reports from the UA athletics department.
A group including President Peter Likins, Athletics Director Jim Livengood and Senior Associate Director of Athletics Kathleen "Rocky" LaRose scheduled last week to meet with three candidates over the weekend plus Hankwitz today. The group reportedly met with Oklahoma defensive coordinator Mike Stoops last week.

Olson seeks 500th win at UA
No. 4 Wildcats open play against Northern Arizona
Season number 100 tips off tonight for the UA men's basketball team when the Wildcats take on in-state rival Northern Arizona in what is primed to be a monumental evening in Wildcat history.
Hall of Fame head coach Lute Olson guns for his 500th win as head coach of the Wildcats as Arizona takes on the Lumberjacks in McKale Center tonight at 6:30.

Volleyball also plays host to ĪJacks
Arizona volleyball head coach Dave Rubio didn't exactly try to hide the fact that he scheduled this morning's match with Northern Arizona to help the Wildcats earn a winning record.
But after the team's weekend sweep, today now looks like nothing more than a chance to give the reserves some playing time.
No. 25 Arizona (16-14, 10-8 Pacific 10 Conference) is guaranteed to finish with a winning record, which is needed to qualify for the NCAA tournament, after a pair of 3-1 wins over No. 11 Washington (19-8, 10-9) and Washington State (5-20, 9-13) Friday and Saturday.

Women win opener against NAU
The No. 22 UA women's basketball team easily dispensed with Northern Arizona, 89-67, Saturday afternoon in McKale Center in the first regular-season game for both teams.
NAU scored first, and was ahead 5-4 near the game's three-minute mark. That was as good as it would get for the Lumberjacks.
The Wildcats took a 6-5 lead on two made free throws by sophomore center Shawntinice Polk, the beginning of an 18-0 Arizona run that staked UA to an early 22-5 advantage.

Rugby takes home tournament crown
The UA men's rugby team won the Arizona Wildcat Rugby Memorial Invitational this weekend after defeating San Diego State on Saturday and St. Mary's yesterday.
The Wildcats (3-1) plowed through a San Diego State team on Saturday at Estevan Park 38-17, a day before downing St. Mary's, 27-21, in the title game.
Fullback Aaron Land and wing Marcus Johnson carried the team with two and three tries, respectively, after San Diego opened the game 5-0.
