Music senior plays trombone and makes National Geographic collage when bored

Wildcat: My name's Nathan and you're On the Spot. Where are you coming from?

Escoto: I just came out of a rehearsal for Wind Ensemble.

Wildcat: What do you play?

Escoto: Trombone.

Wildcat: I was in band when I was in high school. But band people, I have to admit: They're weird. Do you think so? I had to get out.

Escoto: I considered leaving too. I said a million times that I was going to stop, but I kept doing it. When you're in high school, it's more for social reasons, Īcause all your friends are there. When you get here, you're a little more serious about it.

Wildcat: Do you play any other instruments?

Escoto: Yeah, I play guitar.

Wildcat: (pointing to Gilliland) Is this your boyfriend? Friend?

Escoto: Boyfriend.

Wildcat: How long you guys been going out?

Escoto: Two years.

Wildcat: Do you have any advice to give those just starting out a relationship?

Gilliland: Don't fight over bullshit.

Escoto: Yeah. Don't expect too much of your partner, Īcause ÷

Gilliland: I'm very disappointed.

Escoto: Don't try and change them. That's bad.

Wildcat: That's cool. That helps me. What do you have in your hand?

Escoto: This is a collage that I made from pictures in National Geographic.

Wildcat: See? That's what I'm talking about. Weird band people.

Gilliland: Well. I like to say it's creative.

Wildcat: What's it for?

Escoto: I just did it. I was bored.

Wildcat: That's what I'm talking about. That's proof. Where are you guys going right now?

Escoto: Going home.

Wildcat: I'm hungry right now, but I don't have any money.

Gilliland: Neither do we. My roommate just stole a bunch of food from a place he used to work at, so we're living off that.

Wildcat: Whatever you have to do.
