Police found a student's fake ID after a cab driver accused him of breaking the cab's window handle outside a campus fraternity early Tuesday morning, reports stated.

When police arrived at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, 1509 E. Second St., the student began to run. Reports stated that the cab driver said, "That's him. He's running."

The cab driver found a license that belonged to the student in the backseat of the vehicle. Police discovered the ID was a fake, reports stated.

The cab driver then told police the student had not actually damaged the vehicle, and that a woman who had also been riding in the cab was nearby, reports stated.

The woman and the cab driver discussed the damage, reports stated.

Police placed the fake ID into evidence and planned to follow up on the incident, reports stated.


A student reported to police that his license plate had been switched while he was parked on East Second Street, near North Olive Road, Wednesday afternoon, reports stated.

The student had been in class between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., after which he drove home in his Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Upon arriving at his house, his wife noticed that the license plate on the back of the car was not theirs, reports stated.

Police ran the numbers on the new license plate, but were unable to identify the original owner.

The student's license plate was reported as stolen.


A student who had parked in the Zone 1 lot at 1420 E. Seventh St. returned to his car Tuesday afternoon also found a 4-inch dent in the passenger-side door and a note on his windshield, reports stated.

The note was from a witness of the accident. The witness had seen a man dent the car, then get in his car to drive away.

The witness then told the man who hit the car to leave a note. When the man refused, the witness took down the man's license plate and left a note himself, reports stated.

Upon arrival, the police discovered that the man's car was still in the parking lot with an expired Zone 1 pass, reports stated.

The student agreed to not press charges if he received the man's insurance information, reports stated.


A student's $150 red mountain bike was stolen Monday from the College of Pharmacy, 1703 E. Mabel St., reports stated.

The student had cable-locked the bike around 10 a.m. and returned around 5 p.m. to find the bike missing, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A student's bike was stolen from the Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall, 910 E. Fifth St., over winter break, reports stated.

The student told police that the gray specialized bike with orange writing had been locked with a U-Lock, reports stated.

The bike cost $100, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A 1991 Plymouth Accord was stolen from the Center for Computing and Information Technology, 1030 N. Olive Road, Sunday afternoon, and then found damaged on the corner of North Silverbell Road and East Sunset Road around noon Monday, reports stated.

The owner reported that the car had been taken between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. He had left two checkbooks, and his UA parking permit inside the car, reports stated.

The next day, the car was found by the Tucson Police Department. The license plate was gone, and the car had to be towed, reports stated.


A student returned from winter break to discover that his $100 CD system, 14-inch TV, DVD player and VCR had been stolen from his room at Corleone Apartments, 1330 N. Park Ave.

A resident assistant at Corleone Apartments said she had seen the window in his room open and the screen off, but had thought that the student had just forgotten his key and needed to get in, reports stated.

There was no broken glass or other damage, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A student reported to police that a bag containing her cell phone, blue medical bag, CatCard and dorm key was stolen from the Student Recreation Center, 1400 E. Sixth St., late Wednesday night.

She had placed her bag in a locker in the women's locker room. She had not locked the locker, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.
