Men's Hoops: UA to clash with Men of Troy
Wildcats return home after disappointing 1-3 record on road swing
After losing five of its first 11 Pac-10 games, the UA men's basketball team has a lot of avenging to do.
The Wildcats missed their first chance at revenge Saturday against Stanford, the team that handed the UA its first conference loss by coming into McKale Center and beating Arizona by 10 on Jan. 10.
Tonight, Arizona gets another shot at Southern California, the team responsible for its second Pacific 10 Conference defeat - a 99-90 upset in Los Angeles five days later.

Women's Hoops: Wildcats try to stay atop Pac-10
The Wildcat women's basketball team heads to Los Angeles this weekend for a critical Pac-10 road set against UCLA and USC.
After their sweep of Stanford and California at home last weekend, the Wildcats lead the Pacific 10 Conference entering tonight's game against the Bruins at Pauley Pavilion.
"The pressure is no different for our kids," said UA assistant coach Shimmy Gray about being in first. "It's different as far as our opponents, because we are the team they are gunning for. This is going to be a very tough road trip for us."

Something has got to give.
That's the consensus this week in the UA men's basketball camp, not to mention those in Westwood, Calif., and downtown Los Angeles.
No. 16 Arizona finally returns home this weekend, fresh off a pair of losses to the Pacific 10 Conference's Bay Area contingent, for a pair of games with Southern California and UCLA, two schools who are also trying to rebound from tumbles down the Pac-10 ladder.

Wild ride for football recruit ends at OSU, not UA
When the top high school football recruit in Hawaii said "aloha" to the Arizona football program, it meant both hello and goodbye. Or, to be more specific, "hello," then "goodbye," then "hello again," and finally, "goodbye, for good."
Jeremy Perry, the 50th state's most coveted recruit this year according to an Oregon State press release, officially agreed to play for the Beavers yesterday, according to Hal Cowan, OSU's assistant athletic director.

Commentary: Why have all the UA traditions gone away?
Welcome, everyone, to Tradition-less U, the school that has fewer traditions than Janet Jackson has nipple covers.
After (sadly) watching the (terrible) game between Stanford (cheaters) and Arizona on Saturday, I realized that our school is so boring, it makes the pimple-poppers in Maples Pavilion look hard-core.
The Cardinal students are so close to the action, they could have touched up Salim's left-arm tattoo.

Women's golf finishes 4th, Blasberg struggles in L.A.-area tournament
The Arizona women's golf team headed into the first tournament of the spring hoping to continue its fall success, but balky putters and a tough course put the Wildcats in fourth place after the final day.
"It felt like we were in the ring with (Mike) Tyson, and we weren't able to use our hands," head coach Greg Allen said after the final putt had dropped.
The girls shot the worst final round of any team that finished in the top-10, ending the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge with a combined 29-over par, 313.

The UA men's tennis team looks to win its fourth straight match when it battles Wichita State at Ventana Canyon Resort today at 2 p.m., in what is considered a home game.

Women's tennis takes on Lobos today after layoff
After spending a week at the practice courts and away from competition, the women's tennis team is back to take on New Mexico this afternoon at home.
The Wildcats (2-1) will match up against the Lobos (2-1), who hold a No. 54 ranking and return four players. Arizona has never lost to New Mexico, holding a 13-0 edge all-time. The Lobos' only loss of the season was to No. 7 Northwestern.
"New Mexico is a really good team, and they just lost a really close match to Northwestern," said coach Vicky Maes. "We're going to have to be ready. We have to play consistent and play to the best of our ability."
