The new UofA Bookstore opened at Park Student Union earlier this month, after its construction began more than 19 months ago.
Students now have a new place to purchase school supplies and UA insignia clothing, and partake in services such as UPS shipping and balloon-a-grams.
The new bookstore is especially convenient for students who live in the adjacent residence halls, including Arizona-Sonora, Coronado and Kaibab-Huachuca.
"We thought it would be a great asset to the students since it's so convenient," said Kathy Hamm, the bookstore's manager and gift buyer.
The bookstore officially opened Aug. 16, with a temporary Bed Bath & Beyond outlet where several freshman purchased bedding, storage bins, coffee makers and other household items for their dorms.
The Bed Bath & Beyond merchandise was only available until Saturday, but negotiations to have a permanent Bed Bath & Beyond in the bookstore are underway, according to Hamm.
There will be an in-store giveaway of Bed Bath & Beyond merchandise at the main bookstore in the Student Union Memorial Center. Prizes include a comforter, bedding, pillows, a fan, a lamp, a storage bin, a hamper and a trash bin. Only students can enter to win.
At the PSU bookstore, there will also be drawings to win Clinique and Burt's Bees products. For every purchase of more than $50, customers will receive a Wildcat lanyard.
Hamm also said that there is a survey available for students to mention what merchandise they would like the bookstore to offer.
