We here at the opinions desk of your beloved Daily Wildcat are dedicated to informing, educating, entertaining and, more importantly, infuriating the public. Since it is an election year, we've chosen people with expertise in both politics and arguing until they get blue in the face. With no further ado, allow us to introduce the fall 2004 columnist lineup.

Sean Anderson

Sean Anderson is a junior belonging to the history and English departments. He cites Joseph Conrad, Saint Paul, Alain Badiou, Mao-Tse-Tung and James Brown as his main influences. Anderson cares nothing for your peddling notions so don't bother writing to him. This fall you can catch his musings regarding the pitfalls of U.S. foreign policy as well as the occasional excursion into the absurd and trivial of American and student life in his column, "I Hate Your Freedom."

Brett Berry

Brett Berry is a regional development junior from Gilbert and one of three veteran columnists on staff. Brett is always up for an intelligent debate, whether it be on issues of politics, sports or music - just check the BS at the door. Music is one of Brett's passions - he's an avid Beatles fan, loves jamming on guitar and is pursuing a minor in music. This is his second semester at the Wildcat, and he is looking forward to more opportunities to entertain, enlighten and maybe even enrage readers of his column, which is cleverly named "Berry Pickings."

Susan Bonicillo

Susan Bonicillo is a junior majoring in English and is back for another semester at the Wildcat, ready to take on all the occupational hazards there, including, but not limited to, barely making her deadlines and crying into her pillow late at night after a few scathing letters insulting her writing abilities and intelligence. Until they find someone better, she will be the editor for the opinions section, so you can direct any and all complaints about the section to her. Catch her skewed views on campus life in her column, "Slightly Off Center."

Ryan Johnson

Ryan Johnson is an economics and international studies junior who has reluctantly come back to Tucson after spending a semester in Santiago. A former news reporter for the Wildcat, he's making the switch to the opinions desk. He likes "Chastening" and "Forrest Gump," but dislikes pointy shoes and hearing "Would you like your burger with a bun?" He draws on Thomas Friedman for inspiration and one day wants to go around the world blogging about anything and everything. Support this blogger-in-training by reading his column, "Consider the Source."

Laura Keslar

Laura Keslar is a pre-pharmacy junior from Yuma. She once strove for bigger and better things, like becoming a talk radio host with a show to rival Rush Limbaugh's, but now she just wants to graduate in the next decade. When not reading random books like "Monstrous Regiment" and "Planned Chaos," she can be found drooling over her large collection of Donald Rumsfeld pictures. She hates organic chemistry (like many other students on campus) and was not swept away by the madness of Beatlemania.

Dan McGuire

Dan McGuire is a political science and journalism senior with aspirations of attending law school. He's a member of Beta Theta Pi and a former president of the Phi Alpha Delta pre-law fraternity, and has been involved in several other class honoraries and campus organizations. Originally born in Orange County, Calif., he grew up in Kentucky and has lived in Tempe for 11 years. While at the UA, he has developed a hatred of ASU and a love of Keystone Light and Rainbow Sandals. Check out his column, "The Way it Is ... The Way it Should Be."

Aaron Okin

Aaron Okin is a regional development and political science senior from Mesa. He's the type of guy who will plunge heedlessly into any political debate and won't stop until he's made you see his point or just flat out exhausted your patience. Just don't bother him for a chance to match wits on Sunday mornings, seeing as football season is coming up and you won't be able to pry him off his Barca lounger while a Browns game is on. He will continue his focus on national and international issues in his column, "A Wider Lens."
