Men's Hoops: Wildcats crack top 10 in polls
With a number of significant losses in the top 10 last week, the Arizona men's basketball team moved up in the rankings to No. 8 in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll after being No. 11 last week.
In The Associated Press poll, the Wildcats currently stand at No. 9, up one spot from last week.
Teams who are ahead of Arizona in the rankings, but lost last week include No. 5 Kentucky, No. 6 Wake Forest, No. 7 Duke and No. 8 Kansas, who lost twice.

Commentary: NHL should take cues from college
So, after Friday's whirlwind of events, it was possible to have an abbreviated season in the No Hockey League, but even if things were to work out after a 6 1/2-hour meeting Saturday (which it didn't), the league would still have been far from fixing its problems.
The league was already struggling to attract fans pre-lockout, and now they have to deal with the issue of re-attracting those who have vowed never to return.

Senior swimmer Mason puts in work
Friendly, tough and loyal are the three words Emily Mason uses to best describe herself.
The "tough" and "loyal" anyone can see from watching her swimming and her success, but the "friendly" is something you have to meet her to experience.
Senior swimmer Emily Mason is just one of those people.
One of those people that from the second you meet her makes you feel at ease and completely comfortable. The best part about her is that she really is just an average person.

New tennis coach shapes players, people
Brian Ramirez has been helping others become better for more than 20 years - not just as athletes, but as people.
Ramirez started working in tennis at an early age. Realizing that he would rather teach than play, he started working with young children, helping them learn the fundamentals of tennis. Gradually, he moved up to older children, then teenagers and adults.
As current assistant coach of the Arizona women's tennis team, he's more focused on his players becoming better as a cohesive unit than winning and losing.

Women's golf tied for second at season's lone home meet
The Arizona women's golf team finished second after 36 holes yesterday in its only home spring meet, the Wildcat Invitational held at Arizona National Golf Course.
Junior Lani Elston led the Wildcats, finishing 3-under par with a career-low 68 in the first round to put her in third place.
"I tried to keep the same mindset for the second round because you know you're going to be fatigued," Elston said.
