Safety 101: Don't forget what McGruff teaches
Last October, serial rapist James Allen Selby was convicted of sexually assaulting several Tucson women and a teenage girl in their homes. A number of Selby's attacks happened right here in the UA area.
Two weeks ago, the University of Arizona Police Department issued a Campus Alert, warning students that several burglaries and sexual assaults have again occurred near the UA.
In other words, students beware. Rapists still loom about campus. The UA area isn't a crime-free bubble.

From the Editor: ASUA endorsements are a Wildcat right
What is the purpose of the Arizona Daily Wildcat on the UA campus?
Is it to entertain, or is it to inform?
Is it to question, or is it to give students and campus personnel an opportunity to do the questioning?
The answers might be surprising: It's yes to each of those and many, many more.
But with those responsibilities comes the windfall often created by taking a stance on subject matter that may not be popular, even if it is justified.

Losing candidates can still be involved
This year Associated Students of the University of Arizona elections were really intense. Obviously, not everyone got what they wanted. I really encourage candidates who didn't make it to apply for ASUA appointed positions. Amanda Meaker and Fernando Ascensio as directors of Spring Fling and Speakers Board respectively have been doing praiseworthy work though they lost the election last year.
