Someone broke into a student's car Wednesday and stole $940 worth of CDs and stereo equipment, reports stated.

The student parked his car in a Zone 1 lot, 1015 E. Helen St., at 5:30 p.m. and returned at 8:30 p.m. and saw one window was broken, reports stated.

The window was lying on the ground and held together by the tinting, reports stated.

A stereo, 64 CDs and a CD case were missing, reports stated.

The student did not touch the car before he called police so police were able to dust for fingerprints, reports stated.

Police found two smudged prints on the window and none on the inside of the car, reports stated.

The console inside the car also sustained damage, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A student found damage on her car Wednesday when it was parked in the Cherry Avenue Parking Garage, 1641 E. Enke Road, reports stated.

The student parked her car at 2:30 p.m. and returned four hours later and saw that someone hit her car, reports stated.

The student told police she thinks the damage happened on North Highland Avenue and East First Street the day before, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


An employee contacted police to report someone stole her parking permit out of her car Tuesday, reports stated.

The employee parked her car in a Zone 1 lot, 1325 N. Warren Ave., at 8 a.m. and returned at 5 p.m. and the permit was gone, reports stated.

The employee could not remember if she locked her car before going to work, reports stated.

Nothing else was missing from the car and it did not sustain any damage, reports stated.

Police contacted Parking and Transportation Services to report the permit as stolen, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


Police pulled a car over for a burned out license plate light and found one passenger had a warrant out for her arrest and was in possession of drug paraphernalia, reports stated.

The car was traveling on East Speedway Boulevard and North Park Avenue Tuesday when police saw the license plate light was not working, reports stated.

Police did a records search on the driver and the passenger and found the passenger had a warrant for her arrest though the Tucson Police Department, reports stated.

The driver gave police permission to search the car and found a scale with white, powdery substance on it, reports stated.

The passenger said the scale was hers and she used it to weigh methamphetamine, and she had not used it in two days, reports stated.

Police arrested the woman for possession of drug paraphernalia and booked her into Pima County Jail, reports stated.

The driver was cited for not having a functional license plate light, reports stated.


Two students found a bag of marijuana Tuesday on a floor of the Kaibab-Huachuca Residence Hall, 922 E. Fourth St., reports stated.

The students, who are resident assistants, were doing security checks and found the small bag between two rooms, reports stated.

The students checked with the students who lived on the floor, but all denied the bag was theirs, reports stated.

Police put the bag in evidence, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.


A 32-year-old man set off a fire alarm Tuesday in the UA Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

The alarm signaled police and they arrived on the scene and found the man, reports stated.

The man said he was in the library because he fell asleep on a couch, reports stated.

Police did a records search and found he had six warrants out for his arrest, reports stated.

The man was taken to Pima County Jail.


A student's $200 mountain bike was stolen Wednesday outside of the Life Sciences North building, 1333 N. Martin Ave., reports stated.

The student said he locked his bike with a Master Lock U-Lock, reports stated.

Police found no evidence of the lock or the bike, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.
