The Arizona men's golf JV team finished sixth at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic yesterday in Scottsdale with sophomore Brett Carter leading the Wildcats with a fourth place individual finish.
Arizona shot an even-par 280 to round out the tournament, finishing behind champion Texas-El Paso by 15 strokes.
The Wildcats' JV squad finished in the top-half of the tournament field in a varsity meet for the fifth time in six meets this season.
Carter finished in the top-10 for the first time in his college career after shooting a final-round 69 (-1) and shot a career-low 209 in his fifth tournament appearance.
He was the only Arizona golfer to finish the meet under par.
Sophomore Brian Prouty was the second Wildcat on the leaderboard, finishing for the third time this season in a tournaments top-20. He ended the meet tied at 16.
Freshman Tyler Neal equaled a season low with a second-round 69.
Utah's Steve Newren brought home the individual honors, shooting a 3-under-par 207.
The Arizona varsity team plays Friday-Saturday at the U.S. Collegiate Championship in Palo Alto, Calif.
