Arizona track and field's throwers earned six qualifying marks in La Jolla, Calif., over the weekend in the University of California San Diego's Triton Invitational.

Junior Kelli Burton qualified for the NCAA West Regional Championships, held in Eugene, Ore., May 27-28, in the shot put, with a throw of 49 feet, 3 inches. Burton qualified in the discus (164) and hammer (181-7) as well.

Sophomore Rachel Varner punched her ticket to Eugene in the discus, placing fifth with a throw of 182-11.

The men's throwers had two qualifiers as well, senior Sean Shields in the shot (59-6.75) and sophomore Adam Kuehl in the disc (194-9).

Next weekend, the teams travel to Tempe where they will compete in the Arizona-ASU-NAU Double-Dual. Select members will head to Palo Alto, Calif., for the Stanford-hosted Cardinal Invitational.
