A student was cited for underage drinking Friday night at Manzanita-Mohave Residence Hall, 1010 N. Park Ave., after he kicked and pushed a water fountain, reports stated.
When police arrived around 10 a.m. a resident assistant said they didn’t want to press charges against the student for hitting the water fountain.
Medics were called to see if the student had alcohol poisoning. The student was deemed to be OK, reports stated.
The student was released, reports stated.
Nine DVD players, eight VHS players and three LP vinyl records were moved from one room in the UA Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., to another room sometime before 1 a.m. Friday, reports stated.
When police arrived, a UA employee said he found the items in a locked room that was supposed to remain unlocked at all times. No one was in the room when he found the items, reports stated.
The employee said the items were taken from another room that had not been secured.
The anti-theft stickers had been removed from all of the items. The stickers were found in the trash.
The employee said he thought some of the homeless people who hang out at the library were responsible for moving the items.
The employee said several similar incidents happened throughout the summer.
Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
Ten chairs were stolen Thursday from the Student Union Memorial Center, 1303 E. University Blvd, reports stated.
A UA employee said the chairs, which had been outside of 3 Cheeses and a Noodle and Café Sonora, were last seen around 8 a.m. The employee noticed the chairs were missing around 8 p.m.
The cost of the chairs was thought to be $720.
Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
A man repeatedly called employees in McKale Center, 1721 E. Enke Drive, between Aug. 18 and Friday, asking for a football sideline pass, reports stated.
When police arrived, a UA employee said the man called about 10 times and had spoken to about five employees about the pass.
The man told employees he wanted the pass because he was disabled and couldn’t sit for too long.
The man would then change the subject and talk about golfing in Australia and other topics, reports stated.
Police contacted the man and told him to stop calling.
The man promised to stop calling now that he knew the ways to obtain a pass, reports stated.
A student was diverted to the Dean of Students Office for underage drinking Friday night after police saw him throw a beer can near North Cherry Avenue and East Mabel Street, reports stated.
Police saw the student walking with two other males and a female around 11 p.m. Police thought they saw the student and another male holding silver beer cans, reports stated.
Police then saw someone throw the cans to the ground, reports stated.
The two males and the females said they hadn’t been drinking, and police didn’t detect any signs that they had been.
The student at first said that he hadn’t been drinking, but then admitted to throwing down an empty beer can.
Police found the can, which was still cold and half full.
The student was then released, reports stated.
A man was cited for drinking in public Aug. 22 after police saw him drinking out of a water bottle at a bus stop near East Speedway Boulevard and North Campbell Avenue, reports stated.
Police noticed the water bottle had a brown liquid in it. The man appeared to be drunk, and when police smelled the bottle it smelled like alcohol.
The man was released and the bottle was disposed of, reports stated.
A student was cited for underage drinking early Friday morning after police found him passed out in a car parked in a Zone 1 lot, 1026 N. Vine Ave., reports stated.
Police knocked on the student’s window and after a few minutes the student woke up.
When police asked the student if he had been drinking he said he had “probably eight or nine beers,” reports stated.
The student was then released.
A student’s $300 red and black bike was stolen sometime between Thursday and Friday from La Paz Residence Hall, 602 N. Highland Ave., reports stated.
The student said she locked her bike with a cable lock around 9 p.m. on Thursday and returned around 10 a.m. the next day to find the bike gone.
Police have no suspects or witnesses.
