ArizonaCares collecting victim supplies
Members of ArizonaCares will be collecting supplies for hurricane relief efforts today on the UA Mall.
The organization will be collecting cash or checks, hygiene supplies, basic first aid supplies, emergency supplies such as blankets and pillows, and school supplies for Hurricane Katrina victims.
The drop-off location for supplies will be on the UA Mall in front of the Student Union Memorial Center.
ArizonaCares comprises members from the Arizona Student Unions, the University Activities Board, the Arizona Blue Chip Program, Greek Life, the Dean of Students Office and Arizona Athletics.
Benefit concert to raise funds for Red Cross
"The Promise of Living" free benefit concert will be held tonight at 7:30 in Crowder Hall to raise funds for the American Red Cross' relief efforts.
This special night of music includes HarpFusion, the world's largest internationally touring harp ensemble; Vocalease, a seven-member female a cappella vocal ensemble; Arizona Choir, the UA's premier vocal ensemble; renowned opera singers Faye Robinson and Charles Roe with distinguished pianist Rex Woods; the Arizona Opera Company and UA graduate students.
State Department internships and scholarships
The State Department will be holding an informational meeting today for students interested in internships and scholarships.
The meeting will be held in the Cesar E. Chavez Building, Room 211 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Students interested in working at the American Embassy in Italy or places in Central America should attend the meeting for more information about the program.
