Arizona men's club volleyball: Rising to the challenge
Perennial club powerhouse sports top-level talent
While it hasn't hoisted any banners on National Championship Drive, the Arizona men's club volleyball team boasts a championship history of its own.
As one of the top club teams in the nation, the Wildcats have made winning a habit. Arizona took home four national titles in five years, winning in 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2003.

Football notes: 'Dinged-up' linebackers may return against Cal
The impending bye weekend for the Arizona football team gives a Wildcat squad hit hard by injuries a chance to heal before opening Pacific-10 Conference play Oct. 1 at California, head coach Mike Stoops said yesterday after practice.

Arizona was without linebackers Dane Krogstad (shoulder), Ronnie Palmer (foot), Spencer Larsen (hamstring) and Randy Sims (ankle) Saturday when No. 11 Purdue won 31-24 at Arizona Stadium.

The Wildcats did well against top-five teams last year, albeit at home. On Oct. 10, Arizona defeated No. 4 Washington 3-1. Three weeks later, Arizona beat No. 5 UCLA for the first time in school history.

Volleyball notes: Underclassmen shining early in season
Lamb, Leonard show consistency, improvement
Though the No. 15 Arizona volleyball team relies on the leadership and athleticism of seniors Kim Glass, Jennifer Abernathy and Bre Ladd, the underclassmen are pulling their own weight at libero and middle blocker.
Sophomore middle blocker Dominique Lamb has come into her own this season, as she has taken on the responsibility of being the anchor of the position.
