  • "Cultural Competency: Tiles of Hope." An experiential learning activity where students will reflect on their culture with poetry and art. Students will develop a lyrical poem that reflects their "culture." Culture is defined by the student and is translated into art on a tile. Each tile is then added to a frame in the shape of the UA "Block A." 10:30 a.m. UA Mall

  • "The Importance of Being Earnest," by Oscar Wilde. Presented by the Honors Players, the play focuses on two young men, Jack and Algernon, who are in love with girls determined to marry another man named Earnest. 7 p.m. Slonaker House, Living Room

  • "Fantastic Four." When an experimental space voyage goes awry, four people are changed by cosmic rays. They become the Fantastic Four. Together, they use their unique powers to explore the strange aspects of the world and to foil the evil plans of Doctor Doom. $3. 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Student Union Memorial Center, Gallagher Theater

  • Cultural Competency: "Working Towards a Culture of Competence," by Carla Gary, University of Oregon. Gary will use research findings, her experience as an educator, and real-life examples to define cultural competency, demonstrate its benefits, and suggest ways to continue developing or teaching these skills.
