The team that lost just six times all of last season found itself the loser twice this weekend.

The Arizona women's softball team, coming off a season that saw the team go 66-6, started its season 4-2 after a weekend at the Coca-Cola Classic in Phoenix.

The highlight of the weekend was junior Nancy Evans' triumphant return from a broken foot. She led UA to a 4-2 victory over Massachusetts and an 8-4 win over Florida State.

Evans relieved junior Carrie Dolan in the Wildcats' first loss of the weekend, a 6-3 decision to Cal State-Fullerton. Arizona was defeated by Ohio State 4-0 yesterday.

Dolan pitched Arizona to victories against UNLV and San Diego State. Senior second baseman Jenny Dalton hit her first home run of the year against the Aztecs as the Wildcats won 11-3 in five innings.

The team returns home on Friday to host the Buckeyes, New Mexico State and Pacific 10 Conference rival Washington in the Arizona Classic at Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium.
