Pro-life insert not 'sick,' it was 'truthful'

Editor:

This is in response to the Feb. 28 letter, "Abortion ad 'low tactic,' propaganda," written by Dorothyanne Peltz. I have a question for you, Ms. Peltz: Are you retarded? After deeming the Pro-Life insert "propaganda," you say it is "sick." What is really sick is that you don't realize just how sick it is to have an innocent, living, unborn child torn to pieces and sucked out of an uncaring mother's uterus just so she won't have to deal with the "problem."

You go on to say that the Wildcat is "supporting the efforts of others to foster guilt on a woman who makes a decision to abort," and that the paper is "stooping to such a low tactic to punish women by using this advertising." Did you actually read the insert? I did, and I couldn't find any indication that the articles were "punishing" women. In contrast, accounts are given by several mothers (including one who had an abortion and one who got out of it only because of the age of her unborn child) that advise against abortion and encourage expectant mothers to give their babies a chance at life, either by responsibly rearing them or opting for adoption. No one in the insert is punished € in fact, a former abortion doctor gives her testimony. If anyone is to be punished, shouldn't it be the one who actually performs abortions? Instead, this doctor answers questions about the evils of her former business and how she got out of it. As far as the Wildcat helping to "foster guilt" on abortive women, you must be referring to the insert's continual use of the words "kill" and "murder" in place of the word "abort." Well, maybe you have a point. If I killed my unborn child, I know I'd feel guilty.

The final point I would like to mention is your idiotic comparison of the Wildcat's inclusion of the insert to the acceptance of advertisements denying the holocaust. If it is such a crime to deny that the deaths of more than six million people ever happened, why do you find it unacceptable to bring to our attention the 33,500,000 people killed as a result of abortion? Open your eyes.

The Pro-Life insert was not sick € it was truthful. It was not punishing € it was supportive. It was not blaming € it was encouraging. And above all, it was not denying nor secretive € it was real.
