The Arizona baseball team must be eager to return home to the safe confines of Sancet Field, because it keeps getting beaten on the road. The Wildcats have lost two straight series on the road, starting in February with Cal State-Fullerton and now at Pacific 10 Conference Southern Division rival Southern Cal.

Arizona (16-10) made a valiant comeback in yesterday's game to beat the Trojans 9-8. Center fielder Diego Rico's three-run home run in the seventh inning tied the game at 7. It was Rico's second home run of the series and his third of the year.

UA gained the lead in the eighth, and reliever Ben White came in to shut USC out and record his third save of the season. The starting pitcher for Arizona was freshman Rob Shabansky, who remained at 2-0. Reliever Tyler Haddix (2-1) got the win.

In Saturday's game at Dedeaux Field, the Wildcats were left standing, shut out 4-0 by Trojan sophomore Seth Etherton.

USC humbled the Wildcats in a 20-5 romp on Friday night.
