Prank phone call to dorm room accidental

Editor:

As of late, the Kappa Sigma fraternity and my roommate, Michael Herskovitz, have been drawing a lot of heat over a prank phone call which was accidentally received by Roberto Martinez. I played the message once on Feb. 5, 1996. Mr. Martinez has been contending lately that we called four times and played the message all four times. This is a fallacy. One time I could not get the message to play, and the second time I played the message. The phone records back our contention. Mr. Martinez also reported the message that I played incorrectly. The real message says, "You had best unf**k yourself, or I will unscrew your head and shit down your neck." The real message said nothing about "stopping what you are doing" or "choking you." Also, when this incident was reviewed with my assistant hall director, she read your statement to me in which you stated I called six times. Now, I am curious, how many times are you claiming I called now?

I am also extremely upset about how you are trying to drop the blame on the Kappa Sigma fraternity and my roommate. If you took the time to talk to us before you went to the press, you would have known I was responsible for a mistaken phone call.

I am sorry for this occurring, but the bottom line is: IT WAS AN ACCIDENT! I find it extremely upsetting that you would just assume that it was my roommate who called. I find it even more upsetting that you would lie about the number of times I called and change the content of the message. This shows a total lack of character and morality on your part. Start telling the truth and getting the facts straight, "Then we'll talk." By the way, if you still want to protest, you can protest outside my dorm room since I am the one responsible for the mistake.
