Valentin Pena, mason with Facilities Management, cleans graffiti off the wall of the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Lab, which is behind the Student Union. Several areas of campus were vandalized over spring break by what looked like the same people, PeŽa said. If someone is caught putting graffiti on a campus building, the person will be charged with a misdemeanor or a felony, depending on the amount of damage caused, and can be booked into jail, UAPD Sgt. Brian Seastone said. Vandalism accounts for about $100,000 a year in damaged property on the campus, said Alan Lee, chief insurance officer for Risk Management.
