Candidates missing research on issues

Editor:

ASUA senate candidates need to research issues. A bar! More blue lights! An FM station! What senate prospects lack is the ability to research and bring forth issues with substance. Looking back in time, I see some real issues that need to be addressed. Racial tensions. Budget issues. Lack of spirit. Lack of mentorship and internship programs. The separation of powers (referring to GPSC and ASUA). Issues such as these may be more complex than a blue light, but need to be focused on for our university community to grow stronger and become socially aware. Senate candidates need to campaign on a platform with ideas that can tackle root issues, rather than bandwagon issues.
