Spend time finding cures, not whining

Editor:

Roberta Wright and her group of protesters ("Rights protestors hold vigil," April 3) have the protected right to demonstrate to air their beliefs in public. This right also affords me the equal pleasure of disagreeing with them. I would not be likely to support or join a group that counts arson, vandalism, burglary, breaking and entering and assorted other crimes as viable tactics in animal liberation. To demonstrate in support of ALF (Animal Liberation Front) is to support these tactics. To ask the public to join this cause is foolishness. Since these foolish people believe biomedical research is pointless, I would challenge them to come up with therapies and cures for the various illnesses that afflict humans and animals. That would be a much better contribution than whining on a street corner.
