The UA gymnastics team continued their dream season Friday in Columbia, Mo. when they set a new Cat Classic tournament record of 194.273.

That mark was also the third-best score in Arizona history and good enough to give the No. 7 Wildcats (9-0) the win over fellow "Cats," the Penn State Nittany Lions (191.325), Missouri Tigers (190.550) and Auburn Tigers (188.100).

In the individual portion of the tournament on Saturday, Arizona had two individual winners in sophomore Nancy Milberger on beams (9.850) and freshman Heidi Hornbeek on bars (9.925).

While the Wildcats had some impressive individual performances, their victory was based on consistency. In all four events, only one time did Arizona have to keep a score below 9.50. The highlight for the Wildcats was their performance on the bars, where Arizona eclipsed its old record of 49.076 with a mark of 49.175. Junior Tenli Poggemeyer (9.725), senior Shane Allbritton (9.750), junior Becky Bowers (9.90), Hornbeek (9.875) and freshman Maureen Kealey (9.925) all gave career performances, with Arizona pacing the field in that event by nearly a point.

Hornbeek won the all-around, her third title in four meets with a score of 38.775. Finishing a close second was Poggemeyer, who recorded a 38.725.
