  • Career Services offers a free workshop on how to plan your job search from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Students are required to check in at the Career Services reception desk in the lower level of Old Main.

    The workshop discusses which strategies are most effective and where resources are available.

  • The Department of Psychology presents Victor Shamas to speak on "Career 2000," in the Psychology Building Room 306 at 7 p.m.

    Shamas, along with professional investor Randy Brauer, will discuss techniques used to anticipate career trends and the benefits of shifts in information technology.

  • The Department of Latin American Studies presents Darrell Lockhart, professor of Spanish, to speak on "Latin American Jewish Writers," in the Douglass Building Room 102 at 4:30 p.m.

    Lockhart is working on a dictionary of Latin American Jewish writers.

  • In conjunction with Multi-Cultural Week Gwendolyn Trottein, professor of art history at Bishop's University in Quebec, speaks on "Benvenuto Cellini's Astrological Self Portraiture," in the Harvill Building Room 208 at 3 p.m.

  • The Memorial Student Union's Gallagher Theatre is showing "Mars Attacks" at 7:30 p.m. and 9:35 p.m.

Fact of the Day

Today in Japan is Hiamatsuri day where the sins and misfortunes of the living are transformed to tiny straw dolls and set adrift on rivers.
