Allen Arizona Daily Wildcat March 11, 1997 Student robbed at knifepoint in lot near UMCA man robbed a female student at knifepoint for $10 Sunday night near University Medical Center, police reports stated.The student was walking to her car parked in Lot 2007 near the Comstock House, 1451 N. Warren Ave., about 11:20 p.m. A man opened the driver's side door of her car and threatened her with a red-handled Swiss Army knife, according to University of Arizona Police Department reports. The student told police the man told her, "I don't want to hurt you, just give me your money." The student gave the man a $10 bill, and he then fled westbound on East Drachman Street, police reports stated. The student told police the robber was a 6-foot-tall white man in his late 40s to early 50s with a medium build and "salt and pepper" hair. Police reports also stated that at the time of the robbery, the man was wearing a purple and teal windbreaker with a white stripe on the back. The student told police the man looked "clean cut." Lt. Brian Seastone, a UAPD spokesman, said armed robberies are uncommon on campus and an average of one such crime per year is reported to UAPD. Police are asking anyone with information about the crime to call 621-UAPD.
