Sohcahtoa rating system represents free speech

Editor:

"Isn't there another less offensive way you could rate the bad music?" ("Remove vulgarity from Sohcahtoa," Wednesday) OK, first, if there is something out there that is attempting to call itself music and the reporter does not like it - ie, it doesn't deserve the time of day - it deserves the current rating of "Shit. Silence is Golden." I personally wish that people would use MORE profanity sometimes when expressing OPINIONS about something. Sometimes, in my humble opinion, the only way to express how you feel is through profanity. Now don't get me wrong, I know that there are "appropriate" or "correct" or "proper" ways of expressing things for publications but there are times when items just suck; and therefore deserve the same type of commentary.

"I doubt that anyone would be offended if you made the appropriate change." Uh, I would be!! (Hand waving, raised high to the sky) Long live the First Amendment!! "but I know plenty who will (be) offended if you don't." That, I am sad to say, is politically correct bullshit, in my opinion. We go along all day inadvertently listening to other conversations but do we go up to them to tell them that they should not use "profanics?" No, we go along with our business because of our constitutionally given right of the First Amendment: The freedom to express ourselves.
