- The UA Wildcats take on the Kentucky Wildcats at 7:18 p.m. Tucson time. The game will be televised on KOLD-TV Channel 13.
- As part of a celebration of traditional and classical Latin-American music, guest composer Marlos Nobre of Brazil conducts a master class at 11 a.m. in the Fine Arts Complex's Crowder Hall.
Other events include a concert from noon to 1:30 p.m. featuring Bwiya-Toli, a traditional Latin-American music group, on the UA Mall.
At 4 p.m., guest composer Marlos Nobre of Brazil will speak on "The Development of National Identity in the Music of Brazil," at 4 p.m. in the Music building, Room 114.
- Rong Fu, assistant professor of atmospheric sciences, speaks on "Modeling Precipitation in the Amazon Basin," at 4 p.m. in the Center for Creative Photography Auditorium.
- Kendra Gaines of the Writing Skills Improvement Program discusses "Approaching a Text-in-Context Essay," from 7:30 p.m. to 9:40 p.m. in Modern Languages, Room 410. Workshops are free and open to the entire university community with no pre-registration required.
- The Memorial Student Union's Gallagher Theatre is showing "One Fine Day" at 8 p.m. Admission is $2.50.
Fact of the Day
The UA-Kentucky matchup is only the second time in history a championship game has featured two "Wildcat" teams. In 1951, Kentucky beat the Kansas State Wildcats in that game.
