Second St.The student told university police that he saw photocopies, depicting a picture of his face on different bodies conducting pornographic acts, posted on bulletin boards. The student told police he removed the photocopies and kept one of them. He said he also saw one of the photocopies on a stop sign at the intersection of North Mountain Avenue and East Second Street.
A man was cited on a drug charge and two traffic violations Thursday near the intersection of North Cherry Avenue and East Sixth Street. University police were driving southbound on North Campbell Avenue when they saw a 1977 Triumph driving westbound on Sixth Street go through a red light, police reports stated. Police stopped the car at Circle K, 1610 E. Sixth St. As police spoke with the driver, Shilo A. Deal, 19, of the 1700 block of East Seventh Street, police noticed Deal appeared to have "red, bloodshot eyes," according to police reports. Deal also told police he did not have his driver's license. After Deal consented to a search of his pockets, police found a silver colored smoking pipe in his right front shirt pocket. He told police he "forgot it was there." Deal was cited on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a license and failure to stop at a red light. He was released at the scene.
An employee of Budget Car & Truck Rental of Tucson reported one of the company's cars stolen April 25 from the Main Gate Garage, 815 E. Second St. The employee told university police that a woman dropped off a 1997 Pontiac Sunfire at the garage April 11 and gave the car's keys to a bell captain at the Marriott University Park hotel, 880 E. Second St. The employee told police that on April 14, another Budget employee went to pick up the car at the garage but could not find it. The employee said that up to April 15, there were several attempts to locate the car at the hotel. The employee told police he spoke with the woman's husband April 25, who said the car was dropped off at the garage. Police reports stated that the employee spoke with the bell captain the same day and said the bell captain told him that the car and keys were dropped off April 11. The bell captain told the employee that the keys were no longer at the hotel, reports stated. The car was valued at $12,199.
A female student reported the screen to her laptop computer broken Wednesday at the library in the James E. Rogers Law Center, 1201 E. Speedway Blvd. She told university police that she left her Toshiba laptop computer on a table about noon when she went to the restroom. When she came back about 12:10 p.m., she picked up her computer and went home. The student told police she opened her laptop and found the screen broken at about 2 p.m. The damage was valued at $800.
A female student reported a cut in the convertible top of her car parked southwest of the Sigma Kappa sorority house, 1125 N. Vine Ave., Wednesday. The student told university police she parked and locked her 1993 Dodge Sunday about 9 p.m. When she returned to her car Wednesday about 8:30 a.m. she found about a 6-inch square cut on in the convertible top over the driver's side seat. Police reports stated the student also found a "Camel Club" watch lying on the left rear passenger's side floor. The student told police the watch had not been there before. The watch was placed into evidence, and no other damage was found. The value of the damage was unknown.
A female student reported April 24 that a UA handicap permit was stolen from her car parked at Lot 3039 near the intersection of North Palm Drive and East Second Street. The student told university police she parked and locked her 1989 Honda Civic April 22 about noon. When she returned about 2 p.m., the permit was gone. Police reports stated that entry into the car could have been made through a window that was cracked open for ventilation. Reports stated that the permit had been hanging from the rearview mirror. The student reported the theft to Parking and Transportation Services. The permit was valued at $50.
